 Sculptra® Aesthetic is indicated for the correction of shallow to deep nasolabial fold (smile lines) contour deficiencies and other facial wrinkles which are treated with the appropriate injection technique in healthy people. Sculptra is injected into the deep dermis layer of the skin to improve the appearance of sunken cheeks, hollow eyes, indentations and wrinkles. Its main component is an alpha hyrdoxy acid that has been used for 20 years in surgical products such as dissolvable sutures. There is no need for allergy testing. Clinical trials have shown that the benefits of Sculptra treatments can last up to two years.

 We use the Palomar LuxIR Fractional™ Infrared Handpiece that delivers infrared light deep into the dermis. This technology has also been shown to trigger a biological response that leads to "remodeling" of the deep dermis. The deep heating can provide relief of muscle and joint pain, such as from arthritis. The remodeled collagen fills in wrinkles and sagging, for overall skin tightening.
You may experience lingering warmth, tightness, or redness in the treated area, which fades within a few hours of treatment. Because so much of the skin is unaffected by the light pulses, there is a quick healing process. Generally, you can receive a treatment and go back to work or to other activities without any recovery time.
A series of treatments at 4-6 week intervals may be required to achieve the desired result of smoother, tighter skin in the face, arms, abdomen, and other areas.
